Clinic / Office Policies

• Appointments:Dr. Beshay sees patients by appointments only.

• New Patients: Are only seen upon referal from their family doctors or other specialist.

• No Referal: If you don't have a family doctor but have medical or cardiac problems which need to be evaluated; please call the office & the staff will try to help you to be seen.

• On-going Patient Care: You may phone to request a follow up appointment or a review if you have been previously seen within the past year.

• Inactive Patient: Patients who have not been seen for more than one year require a new referal.

• Missed Appointment: We require at least 24 hours notice if you will be unable to keep your appointment. If you miss your appointment without 24 hour notification you will be billed for the missed appointment.

• Medications Renewal: Only those prescriptions that are directly related to the reason for consultation will be renewed; all other medications must be filled by the refering physician or family doctor. Please remember to ask for medications renewal during your appointment, under no circumstances the medications will be renewed over the phone. If you forgot to do so during your regular appointment, call to make an appointment to renew your medications.

• Test Results: The great volume of tests results makes it impossible to call patients with every normal results. You will ,of course, be informed if there is significant abnormal result; and if we feel the results require descussion we will arrange for appropriate follow-up. If you wish you may make an appointment to review your results.

• After Hours Care: The office is closed on weekends and statutory holidays. Please go to your local emergency department or call your family doctor for care when the office is closed.

• Medical Sudents: Occasionlly there will be a medical student or resident (doctor in training) spending several weeks accompanying Dr. Beshay in the office. A full explanation of the teaching arrangement will be given to you should there be a student doctor or medical resident in the office. Your participation in their learning would be optional.

Email Communication Guidelines

Due to the insecure nature of email communication, we do not wish to use email as a means of communication with the public or patient:

• Regarding questions or issues of medical nature

• To establish physician / patient relationship

• To book or cancel appointments or

• For inquiries regarding fees, services or similar matters.

Email communications regarding such matter will not be responded to and will be discarded unread. If you wish to contact us regarding medical questions or issues or with regards to appointments, accounts or other questions please do so by telephone , fax or regular mail.

Port Colborne 

Take Hwy 58 towards Welland, Turn right on Ontario street and left on Plymouth, building will be on your left hand side.

St. Catharines

Take Hwy 406 south, keep right and follow the signs for East Main Street, continue on East Main street, Turn left on Crowland Ave, Turn Right on Lincoln and Left of Plymouth, the building will be on your right hand side.

Niagara Falls

Take Hwy 420 W , Merge onto QEW towards Fort Erie, take Lyons Creek Road W toward Chippawa, turn left onto Montrose, turn right onto Schisler Road, continue onto Hwy 140, at the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto East main Road, Turn left on Crowland Ave, Turn Right on Lincoln and Left of Plymouth, the building will be on your right hand side.

Welland Public Transportation

As of April 13th, 2020. Booking for a ride will be accommodated on a ‘first come – first serve basis’ and the request cannot be any further out than two weeks from the date of the call.
